African-American for the Arts
In celebration of Black History Month African-American for the Arts (AAFTA) will showcase a diverse group of artists' artwork ranging from the artists' artistic expression. The exhibit is hosted by the Douglas County Connection. This event will take place on Feb. 26 at the Cultural Arts Council, from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. The event is open to the public, however, if you would like a special gallery tour of the exhibition, you'll have to make an appointment by contacting the CAC at 770-949-2787.
Engineers R' Us
Engineers R' Us, a free technology event for kids, takes place at Mercer University, 975 Blairs Bridge Road, Lithia Springs, Saturday, Feb. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. It is designed for children ages 3-13 accompanied by an adult. Activities include electric sprinkles, building a glow stick, unmanned vehicles and more. Town Hall Meeting
State Reps. Kimberly Alexander and Roger Bruce will host a town hall meeting on Saturday, Feb. 27 at GreyStone Power auditorium from at 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. They will be joined by Douglas County School Board Member Michelle Simmons as they discuss local laws and upcoming legislation for the 2016 session. Presidential Primary and ESPLOST Election

"State of the County"
County Commission Chairman Tom Worthan will present his annual "State of the County" address on March 3. Worthan will make his address during the County Services Fair. This event is admission free and the public is highly encouraged to attend. Also, in attendance will be various county departments and programs. There will be pamphlets and brochures set up on tables for the public to view. This event will take place at 8700 Hospital Drive from 9 a.m. - 12 noon, located in the Atrium of the Douglas County Courthouse.
Youth Art Month
The opening reception for the Youth Art Month Exhibit at the Cultural Arts Council will take place Thursday, March 3 from 6-8 p.m. at the Cultural Arts Center, 8652 Campbellton Street in Douglasville. New Georgia Hobo Supper
New Georgia Baptist Church will be holding its March Hobo Supper and Gospel Singing on Friday, March 4. Supper begins at 5 p.m. Donations are $6 for adults and $2.50 for children ages 8-12.
