This notice and summons is published pursuant to an order of Court and in accordance with the applicable provisions of O.C.G.A. §9-11-4; §9-11-5, §15-11-243 and §29-2-7 to notify you that the above-styled matter was filed on February 20, 2017, seeking an Order Appointing Lisa Grubbs as permanent guardian of the above named child. All objections to the Petition described above either to the appointment of a permanent guardian or appointment of the proposed guardian must be in writing, setting forth the grounds of any such objections, and must be filed with the Juvenile Court of Douglas County, no later than 14 days after this notice is mailed, or 10 days after this notice is personally served upon you, or ten days after the second publication of this notice if you are served by publication.
With regard to the putative father, you must also file a petition to legitimate the minor within 30 days of the hearing on your objection. If you fail to file a petition for legitimation within 30 days or your petition is dismissed for failure to prosecute, or if an order issues on your petition which does not name you as the father of the minor, you will have no further rights to receive notice or object to the appointment of a permanent guardian for the minor.
In addition, this notice and summons is published pursuant to an order of Court and in accordance with the applicable provisions of O.C.G.A. §15-11-204 to notify you that a Motion of Non-reunification was filed on February 20, 2017, requesting a that the Court enter an Order of Non-reunification releiving the Department of the requirement to provide services to you.
You are entitled to counsel and the Court will appoint counsel if you are unable, without undue financial hardship to employ counsel. Any answer or response to the Petition must be filed, within the time prescribed by the Georgia law and a copy of said answer or response served upon counsel for the Petitioner. A copy of the petition can be obtained from counsel for the Petitioner or from the Clerk of Court.
A hearing in said matters has been scheduled for May 31, 2017, at 9:15 a.m. in said Court
