The Douglasville Police Department released this video of a felony entering auto at the Murphy Oil on Thornton Road at 10:30 a.m. Sunday and stole a woman's purse while she pumped gas. Police believe the same suspect committed a similar crime at the RaceTrac on Highway 5 around 11:55 a.m. Sunday. Capt. Brad Stafford said the woman in the Highway 5 crime called 911 and Sgt. Adam Haney saw the vehicle on I-20 near Fairburn Road and pursued the suspect until he got to I-285 and stopped the chase. Stafford said all told five similar crimes have taken place in Douglas County over the past two weeks. Police are asking for help identifying the suspect in the thefts. The SUV had temporary tags, Stafford said.
