Police are looking for a man for his alleged role in a gunfight that occurred outside an apartment complex as elementary school children were getting off the bus in Douglasville.
Tevyn Jedidiah Clarke, 20, is wanted for five counts of aggravated assault (party to a crime) and criminal gang activity. His last known address was an apartment on Whisper Trail off of Six Flags Road in Cobb County. Court records show that Jackson is accused of being involved in the Jan. 8 gunfight on Chicago Avenue.
Deandre Andrew Jackson, 24, of Winston, Devante Dewayne Richardson, 20; Devin Denard Lindley, 23; Anthony Quave Yates, 21; Davian Antwone Corbett, 20; Antonio Perez Thomas, 21; Saroyan Xavier Bailey, 24; Desmond Quayshan Zachery, 21; and Robert Thomas Sheffield III, 22, all of Douglasville; Nicholas Lee Henderson, 24, of Marietta; Russell Nathaniel Jennings Jr., Deric Wiggles-Harris and Devion Byrd were also charged in the case.
Clarke is accused of being affiliated with the Stacks Up Gang, while some of the other defendants have been tied to the Bloods and Committed to the Block gangs.
“Back in January, we had two gangs of people — one group that had collected over at Crystal Creek subdivision, another group that was over at the Douglasville Proper apartments,” Police Detective Brandon Nutter said during a March 20 bond hearing.
Police have photographs of the group gathered at Crystal Creek minutes before they went to Ravenswood apartments on Forest Avenue where the two groups met up to fight, according to Nutter.
“At that point, guns were produced by both sides,” he said. “Both sides started to fire. There were school children that had just gotten off the bus when this happened.”
According to the indictment, police caught up with Clarke on Jan. 10 when he allegedly tried to pull away form Detective Shane Saddler and refused to be handcuffed.
