Four Carroll County teenagers are in custody in Douglas County after a shooting Thursday in Douglasville left one person injured.
Douglasville Police Maj. J.R. Davidson said the four teens came to a residence on Westchester Drive in Douglasville and engaged in a confrontation over a female.
An argument ensued which escalated into a fight, Davidson said.
One of the Carroll County teens shot one of the other people involved in the confrontation in the leg. Davidson said the person’s injuries were non life-threatening.
After the shooting, the teens left their vehicle at the Westchester Drive location and took off on foot. An officer was nearby when the 911 call came in, and the officer spotted two of the suspects run into the Wendy’s restaurant on Fairburn Road, Davidson said.
When the offer went into Wendy’s, all four teen suspects were identified and arrested inside the restaurant.
Davidson declined to release the names of the teen suspects, but said one teen had a handgun and was charged with aggravated assault and theft by receiving because the gun was stolen.
The other three teens were charged with being a party to a crime.
“We locked up all four of them with the help of the sheriff’s office and they’re in custody,” Davidson said Friday afternoon.
