Douglas County sheriff's deputies arrested eight people for possession of meth early Thursday morning in Lithia Springs.
Brittany Bannister, 23; Janet Gilbert, 40; Amanda Lawhorn, 25; Bridget McDaniel, 40; Daron Stoffer, 35; Dwayne McCalvin; Michael Melanson, 33; and Jessie Wilson, 26; were all arrested at 2194 Chestnut Place for possession of meth between 5:24 and 8:45 a.m.
The amount of meth each suspect possessed ranged from less than a gram to approximately three grams, according to the arrest warrants.
The suspects were also charged with possession of drug-related objects such as syringes and digital scales used to weigh the meth and possession of a firearm, which was a .357 Mag Pug, according to the arrest warrants. For Bannister, Stoffer, and Melanson, the firearm earned them another charge -- possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The eight suspects all made initial court appearances in front of Superior Court Judge David T. Emerson on Friday morning. Bannister and Lawhorn's bonds were not listed. McDaniel, McCalvin, and Wilson's full bond were not listed due to being arrested for charges with other agencies. Gilbert's bond was set at $9,000. Stoffer's bond was set at $10,000. Melanson's bond was denied.
