Douglasville police arrested and charged a man Friday with a rape that allegedly occurred last month.
Cristhian Villanueva, 25, was charged with raping a woman on Oct. 23, according to police. Villanueva allegedly raped the woman inside of a residence in Arbor Station, according to Douglasville Police Maj. J.R. Davidson.
It is unknown if Villanueva had any relations with the victim at the time of the arrest. Davidson said he couldn’t release any further details about the arrest as of Tuesday afternoon.
“It’s an open case that’s still pending prosecution,” Davidson said.
Villanueva made his first court appearance Monday where a judge denied his bond.
The alleged rape is the second in the county in the past two weeks.
On Oct. 31, Christopher Harris, 31, was arrested by Villa Rica police and charged with rape and sodomy. The incidents allegedly happened at a home in the Ashley Highlands subdivision off Conners Road in western Douglas County. Villa Rica Police Capt. Keith Shaddix said Harris put an ad on Craigslist looking for a roommate and then raped the woman who responded to the ad and moved into the home with him.
