After 40 years in education, Gordon Pritz, superintendent of the Douglas County School System, will retire effective May 31, 2017. Pritz served as superintendent in Douglas County for seven years.

The Chair of the Douglas County Board of Education, Tracy Rookard, commented, “We truly appreciate the progress our school system made under the leadership of Dr. Pritz. His insight and vast experience helped us to remain both academically strong and fiscally sound.”

The Board of Education is seeking input from parents, community members, and school system employees regarding qualities they deem important in our next superintendent. The survey is confidential and contains five questions.
