A collision Wednesday afternoon on Riverside Parkway near Fairburn Road in Douglasville left two people injured including a young boy, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
A 2002 Honda Accord driven by Nijar Dequroum Hardy, 25, of Douglasville, was traveling east on Riverside Parkway and crossed over the centerline into the westbound lane, according to the State Patrol. The Accord then left the roadway onto the south shoulder of Riverside for a short distance, overcorrected to the right and rotated clockwise approximately 90 degrees while coming back onto the roadway.
The Accord then traveled into the path of a 2013 Honda Pilot driven by Allison Nicole Tatonetti, 36, of Douglasville who was traveling eastbound on Riverside, the State Patrol said. The Pilot struck the Accord in the left side with its front.
The accident occurred at approximately 5:02 p.m.
Hardy was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.
Tatonetti was not injured. She had three passengers in her vehicle. One of the passengers, a 6-year-old male, was transported to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston Hospital with injuries.
