A Douglasville man was fatally injured when the pickup he was driving overturned Tuesday, killing one passenger and injuring two others who were airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

According to Georgia State Patrol, a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, driven by 23-year-old Douglas Bass, was traveling west on Rockmart Road in north Carroll County. Bass was driving too fast for the curved conditions of the roadway, according to the state patrol, which caused his vehicle to travel off the left side of the roadway and strike a traffic sign and a utility pole.

The pickup overturned and ejected one passenger, 30-year-old Matthew Brown, of Havelock, North Carolina, who was also fatally injured.

The two passengers in the vehicle who were injured were 28-year-old Jonathan Chandler of Clarkesville, Tennessee, and 25-year-old Brandon Chandler of Villa Rica.

The state patrol's report has not yet been completed, and no charges have be made since the driver is deceased.
