Mr. Hermice “Amos” Elroy Kirby, age 75, of Douglasville, passed away, April 18, 2017. He was born August 27, 1941 in Carroll County to the son of the late Mr. Floyd Tollison Kirby and the late Mrs. Elvira Daniel Kirby.

Mr. Kirby served in the Army National Guard for six years. He retired from Old Fashioned Foods after many years of service. He loved camping, gardening, watching Nascar, and sharing stories and telling jokes. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lewis Kirby, Bobby Kirby, Murphy Kirby, and Gaynor Kirby.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra Mae Rogers Kirby of Douglasville; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Dana Kirby of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Steve Bolton of Douglasville; brother, Thomas Kirby of Lithia Springs; grandchildren, Justin and Hannah Kirby of Charlotte, NC, Brandon Kirby of Washington, DC, Chase Kirby of Douglasville, Blake Bolton of Douglasville, and Bailey Bolton of Douglasville; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
