Mrs. Bobbie Jean DeMoisey Gibbs, age 80, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017. She was born March 23, 1937 in Petersburg, Kentucky the daughter of the late Mr. Robert DeMoisey and the late Mrs. Alma Lucas Johnson. A piano teacher for 50 years, she taught in Hebron, Kentucky for six years and later in Douglasville for 44 years. She was a charter member of WGMTA. She served as Chairperson for Douglas County in the National Guild of Piano Teachers for over 20 years. She was a charter member of the Peachtree Chapter of National Federation of Music Clubs. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Douglasville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John DeMoisey.

She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Gibbs, Wade and Susan Gibbs of Douglasville, Georgia, Sean and Sesily Gibbs of Douglasville, Georgia, Christopher and Lynn Gibbs of Cumming, Georgia; five grandchildren, Glenna and Mike James, Collin Gibbs, Amber Gibbs, Brandt Gibbs, and Lauren Nye; half-sister, Patti Schaefer of Blue Ash, Ohio; sister-in-law, Ginny DeMoisey of Burlington, Kentucky.

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Georgia Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. The family plans a memorial service in celebration of her life, Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Douglasville, 9190 Campbellton Street, Douglasville, Georgia 30134 with Rev. Andrew Dickinson officiating.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Those desiring to do so may send donations to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home, 760 Pollard Blvd., SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30315 in memory of Bobbie Gibbs.
