Jo Ann Margueriete Miller Ledford, age 77, of Douglasville, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017. She was born in Monterrey, Tennessee on December 13, 1940, the daughter of the late Joe Mae and Sylvia Miller. She graduated from Homestead School and attended a business college after graduation. She worked for many years as a substitute teacher, for both general and special education, at Stewart Middle School among others. She also was a care-giver for the elderly. She was a member of Mt. Paran Church of God in Atlanta.
Mrs. Ledford loved Southern Gospel music, Elvis Presley, writing poetry, & completing word searches and word finds. She was an avid reader—especially of murder-mystery titles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Joe Miller.
Survivors include the father of her children, Joe Ledford; three sons and daughters-in-law: Mark & Linda Ledford, Scott & Shellie Ledford, and Danny & Anna Ledford; one sister: Janie Conner; grandchildren: Brandon (Lindsey) Ledford, Lauren Ledford, Blake Ledford, Hillary Ledford, Jessica Ledford, Kelsey Ledford, Rachel Bailey, Rebecca Gallman, Brittany Bragg, Briannon Wendt and Chris Mandall; great grandchildren: Luke Kovlick, Finn Anson, Easton Harbuck and Ivy Ledford.
In accordance with her wishes, her body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at 3 p.m.. at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Reverend Carol Couch officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m.
