Mrs. Julia P. Koon, age 85, of Douglasville, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017. She was born in Rock Mills, Alabama, on December 9, 1931, the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Pike and the late Vesta Cleo Lipham Pike. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her infant daughter: Susan Joyce Koon; sisters: her twin, Ann Joyce Bowman, and Virginia Pike Houze; and brothers: Euclid Jackson Pike, John Emory Pike, and William James Pike.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years: Arthur James Koon of Douglasville; children: Robert J. Koon of Douglasville, Julie C. Koon of Powder Springs, and Jim Koon and his wife, Pamela, of Douglasville; grandchildren: Maegen Koon and Clayton Koon; sisters-in-law: Marjorie Shores Pike of Springfield, TN, and Marie Harry Pike of Franklin, GA; brother-in-law: Bryan Bowman of Liberty, NC; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
