Stanley Clyde Dowda, 54 of Temple, GA, passed away on Oct. 4, 2017, with family by his side. He was born in Douglasville, GA. to the late Earnest Dowda and Elizabeth Dowda. As a child, Stanley loved playing youth football and baseball. Later in his life, he enjoyed roller skating, boating, water skiing, camping, motorcross, skydiving and Harley motorcycles. Stanley was a “Jack of all trades and master of many”. He was the owner of Sunblock Window Tinting since 1994. Hot rods and race cars were his thing. Stanley was an avid Nascar fan until Earnhardt wasn’t in it any longer. He loved remembering the times as a kid fishing on the St. Johns River when he was at the family river house. Stanley never met a stranger and loved his “Rent-A-Kids”. He loved being with family and friends no matter what they were doing.

Stanley was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Dowda; paternal grandparents, Robert Lee and Willie Clyde Dowda (better known as “Pa Dowda and Mama Dowda”); maternal grandparents, Ike and Mamia Lee; uncle, James Henry Lee and first wife Katherine Lee and second wife Doris Lee; nieces, Nicole Price and Wendy Bowden.

He is survived by his wife, Cathye Boyd Dowda; mother, Elizabeth Dowda; sons, Cory (Joanna) Dowda, Clint Dowda; daughter, Caurye Quick; brothers, Wayne (Ann) Dowda, Ira (Leigh) Dowda; sisters, Elaine Dowda, Judy (Mike) Newman, Christie (Lewis) Easterwood; grandchildren, Raelye Kate Dowda and one on the way; and numerous other family and friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Heritage Baptist Church on Rose Ave. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at the church with a reception following the service in the fellowship hall. All are welcome to join the family for the reception.
