ONGOING MONTHLY EVENTS
You don't need a weather report to tell you it's been hot this summer. And, it's also been dry. So dry, in fact, that Paulding County is experiencing severe/extreme drought conditions, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.
The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) has been monitoring climatic indicators and water supply conditions to assess drought and severity, as directed by the Rules for Drought Management, Chapter 391-3-30. Some areas of Georgia are facing persistently dry conditions. A Level 1 Drought Response has been declared by the EPD Director.
Georgia's permanent year-round outdoor watering restrictions allow outdoor watering during the hours between 4 p.m. and 10 a.m. to avoid the hottest part of the day when more evaporation occurs, with certain limited exceptions as set forth in the 2010 Georgia Water Stewardship Act.
