Ben Wheeler McAnsh, age 86, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018. He was born September 25, 1931, in Fulton County, Georgia, son of the late William Gardner McAnsh and Callie Jane Wheeler McAnsh.

He proudly served in the United States Air Force where he retired as SMSGT; and was a member of American Legion Post #145. He also served as head of security at Plant Wansley.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Robert Lee McAnsh; sisters, Catherine Hicks, Joann Womack, Carolyn McAnsh, and Mink Coryell; and brothers, John Norman McAnsh, Bill McAnsh Jr., James Franklin McAnsh, and Emmett Marvin McAnsh.

He is survived by his loving wife, Edith Tribble McAnsh of Carrollton; daughter, Donna McAnsh McCain (Scott Stephen) of Douglasville; and grandson, Sean Stephen McCain of Carrollton.

Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, July 8, 2018, at 2 p.m. from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Pastor Bert Gary officiating. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens. The United States Air Force will perform military honors.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 7, 2018, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to and/or American Legion Post #145 Boys State Program at 6449 Bankhead Highway, Douglasville, GA 30134.
