Mr. Harry “Heatwave” Daniels Sr., age 56, Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday September 24, 2016, at 12 noon at A Place of Refuge, 106 Refuge Way, Carrollton, with Bishop Barry Walker, Pastor. Viewing will be Friday September 23, 2016, from 2-7 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 7-8 p.m.

The Champ, son of the late Jimmy and Sybil McClendon Daniels, was born June 17, 1960, in Carrollton, Georgia. He attended Carroll County Public Schools and graduated from Mt. Zion High School. After graduation he joined the United States Army, were he was a member of the Army’s Boxing Program. At an early age he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined the House of Prayer Holiness Church, where he was a dedicated member. Later he joined A Place of Refuge in Carrollton, Georgia, were he served faithfully as a musician (bass guitarist) for the music ministry. He quietly departed this life Sunday, September 18, 2016, at Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia, surrounded by his children.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Daniels; brothers, Glen Daniels and Ricky Daniels; and his beloved sister, Evangelist Shelia Daniels-Brown-Smith.

The Champ’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children: Tyswana (Paul) Joia of Vicenza, Italy, Demetria (Dwayne) Clark of Cordele, Georgia; Attorney Harry M. (Shundrica) Daniels of Newnan, Georgia; Laquetia (Edgar) Martinez of Douglasville, Georgia; Rashad Daniels of Lithia Springs, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Brianna, Zaria, Kaitlyn, Kristen, Dominic, Anthony, Taylar, Cristiann and Dallis; stepchildren and step-grandchildren; one sister, Paulette Johnson; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
