Mr. Jackie Veitch Sr., age 79, of Villa Rica, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at his residence.

Jackie was born in Villa Rica, Georgia, on January 6, 1937, the son of the late Herman Ray Veitch and Ruth Roberts Veitch. He was a Veteran, having served our country in the United States Army. Jackie was employed with Lockheed Martin for 17 years and later owned and operated Dependable Cabinet Company. He was Baptist by faith and a member of Concord Baptist Church in Villa Rica, Georgia.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Matthews Veitch, of 51 years; sons, Jackie Ray Veitch, Villa Rica, Georgia, and Jody Veitch, Bremen, Georgia; grandchildren, Hannah Grace Veitch, Jaret Veitch, Kylee Veitch, Lauren Veitch, Jagger Veitch and Matt and Taylor Land.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson, Barry Land, on August 8, 2013.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 23, 2016, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, September 24, 2016, 11 a.m. at J. Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Miller Officiating. Music will be provided by Scarla Cash and Kenny Woods. Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Carden, Jody Smith, Timmy Maddox, Larry Vickers, Don Hall and Hal Roberts.

Interment will follow the service at Concord Baptist Church in Villa Rica, Georgia. The Unites States Army Honor Guard from Fort Benning, Georgia, will provide military honors.
