Virginia Lee Waldrop, 79, of Waco, Georgia, formerly of Villa Rica, died Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at her residence.

She was born in Pine Mountain, Georgia, on April 11, 1938, the daughter of the late Andrew James Collins and the late Velma Dourrough Collins.

She lived most of her lifetime in this area and worked for more than 30 years for Arrow Shirt Company. When she retired from Arrow, she took a job with Wal-Mart and worked for about 20 years as manager of their jewelry department. She was a very dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She could brighten a day with her fun loving personality and her wonderful smile and laugh. She made friends with everyone she met and always treated people like she wanted to be treated.

She was a member of the Praise Worship Center in Carrollton. Life will not be quite as sweet without her. Rest in peace Virginia, you will be missed by many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry O’Neal Waldrop on September 13, 2014; a granddaughter, Terri Stamps; two sisters, Becky (Bessy) Gray and Mary Wheeler; and five brothers, Render Collins, Hubert Collins, Hugh Lee Collins, Grover Collins and Billy Collins.

Survivors include her children, Jimmy Waldrop of Villa Rica and Fonda Stamps and her husband, Rodney, of Waco; one sister, Shirley Davidson of Panama City, Florida; four brothers, Milford Collins of Carrollton, Calvin Collins and Larry Collins, both of Villa Rica, and Doyal Collins of Heflin, Alabama; six grandchildren, Phillip Waldrop, Beth Phillips, D. J. Mitchell, Tyler Waldrop, Joshua Waldrop and Josie Waldrop; eight great-grandchildren, Lily Waldrop, Abby Waldrop Terri Grace Phillips, Riley Phillips, Ryder Mitchell, Wiley Waldrop, Layla Waldrop and Ava Waldrop; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family received friends at the funeral home Thursday evening, February 1, 2018, from 5-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 2, 2018, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the J. Hoyt Thomas Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Collins and the Rev. John George officiating. Pallbearers will be Phillip Waldrop, Tyler Waldrop, Joshua Waldrop, D. J. Mitchell, John Phillips and Calvin Collins. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Villa Rica.
