The Bowdon High School boys' basketball team endured quite the scare when star guard Zach Ledbetter had to be life-flighted to Atlanta for a head injury during Friday night's game against Rockmart following a bad fall that left him unconscious.
Fortunately, it wasn't as severe as it could have been, as the Red Devil senior guard received staples in his head and suffered a concussion, according to Bowdon head coach David Bramble. Ledbetter will be re-evaluated this week for his status moving forward this season.
Bowdon suffered the 63-59 setback to the Yellow Jackets on Friday, getting 17 points from Dede Cox, while Chris Parker added 15 and Scott Cunningham finished with 10.
The Red Devils rebounded with a 76-73 win over Dade County on Saturday, receiving a double-double from Parker with 27 points and 10 boards, while Cox added 17 points, Trajan Brown finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds, Cunningham chipped in nine and Jarrett Stephens finished with eight.
