Douglas County forward Amari Robinson has been selected to play in the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Junior All-Star Game this month.

Robinson averaged 23.3 points per game this past season to lead the Tigers to a third straight region title and into the Class AAAAAA semifinals.

The GACA All-Star Basketball Classic, which features a boys and girls senior game as well, will be played on March 24 at Dalton High.

Robinson was named the Region 5-AAAAAA Player of the Year last month. During the state playoffs, the 6-foot-1 Robinson averaged 28 points per game.

She scored back-to-back games of at least 30 points in the first two wins of the playoffs.

Robinson has 1,678 career points and is the second all-time leading scorer in the county. She is 60 points away from overtaking former Lithia Springs standout Kiana Johnson as the county’s all-time leading scorer.
