Postseason honors are still coming in for members of the state-champion Chapel Hill softball team.
The Georgia Athletic Coaches Association recently released it all-state team, and four Panthers were recognized in Class AAAAA.
Junior Ashley Morgan was named the GACA Pitcher of the Year, it was the second state-wide honor she has received in the last week. She was recently named the Georgia Dugout Club’s top pitcher in Class AAAAA.
Also named to the GACA all-state team were sophomore Savana Sikes, junior Bella Caricari and senior Shelby Robinson.
Sikes, an infielder, and Caricari, an outfielder, were named to the first team while Robinson, who plays outfield, was an honorable mention selection.
This past season, Chapel Hill won its first state title in softball and the foursome played a large part in the team’s success. In addition, Chapel Hill won its third straight region title.
Panthers coach Mickey Harper was named both the Georgia Dugout Club and GACA coach of the year.
Robinson is the only senior in the group. The leadoff hitter has signed to play with powerhouse Tennessee. An honor roll student, Robinson was named second-team all-region and is president of the senior class.
Morgan provided the team with a solid pitcher and proved to dominating even though she played the last two-thirds of the season with a torn ACL injury. She had surgery in late December and is expected to make a full recovery in time for next high school season in August.

“She is such a humble kid that goes about her business,” Harper said. “She is just a great competitor. Best thing is that she is a great teammate who is humble about her abilities.”
Sikes, a shortstop, hit .409 in 115 at-bats with 12 doubles and six home runs. She also had 30 RBI and scored 39 runs. Only a sophomore, Sikes has committed to Auburn.
As a team, Chapel Hill had an explosive offense that hit 26 home runs and scored 243 runs and had 194 RBI as a team. The team had a combined 44 doubles and two triples.
Caricari, a junior outfielder that has committed to Morehead State, hit .367 and scored 23 runs with 24 RBI. She also had three home runs.
Sikes was named the Douglas County Sentinel Hitter of the Year while Morgan was chosen the county’s top pitcher.
