Elana Meyers Taylor was welcomed home on Monday by county and city officials and several fans during a Welcome Home Celebration at Arbor Place Mall.

Georgia governor Nathan Deal was also at the event.

Meyers Taylor, who won her third Winter Olympics medal last month in the bobsled event, signed autographs and greeted fans during her first public appearance in the county.

She was given several gifts by the city and county as a congratulations to being the most decorated bobsledder in U.S. history.

Last month at the Winter Games in South Korea, Meyers Taylor won a silver medal with brakeman Lauren Gibbs. Meyers Taylor, a graduate of Lithia Springs High, has previously won a silver and bronze in Olympic Games.
