Special Photo/Reggie Davis Landmark Christian sophomore Erin Fegans and senior Sarah Foreman, both Douglas County natives were named to the Atlanta Track Club's All-Metro Team.

Five cross country runners with ties to the county have been named to the All-Metro Cross Country Team by the Atlanta Track Club.

There were 21 boys and 21 girls selected in all to the teams, which was released on Tuesday morning.

Named to the team were Alexander seniors Brenda Ayuk, Koi Williams and Mekhi Williams.

Also named were Landmark Christian sophomore Erin Fegans and senior Sarah Foreman, both are Douglas County residents.

The 42 athletes, who represent 10 counties and 28 high schools, were selected based on criteria including performance at the state meet and other major meets over the course of the season, according to the Atlanta Track Club press release.

“At  the Atlanta Track Club, we have the opportunity to watch these young, promising athletes grow and improve throughout their high school careers,” said Rich Kenah, Atlanta Track Club’s Executive Director, in a statement. “It is an honor to be a part of their running and athletic journey.”

The All-Metro Team will be honored at a banquet next month in Atlanta. The first team selections will receive a $500 scholarship from the Atlanta Track Club.

Former Olympian and NBC broadcaster Carrie Tollefson will host the event.

Last year, former Alexander runner Braeden Collins and Douglasville native Nicole Fegans were named to the first team. Both are now freshmen at Georgia Tech.

Last weekend, Koi and Mekhi Williams helped the Cougars finished fourth at the Class AAAAAA meet in Carrollton. Koi finished runner-up with twin brother, Mekhi, placing third.

Koi had a time of 16 minutes, 34.99 seconds while Mekhi went 16:36 for third.

Ayuk went 19:42 at the state meet to help the girls’ team finish fourth overall.

Fegans had a time of 20:08 to place fifth overall as the second War Eagles runner to cross the finish line in the Class A private-school championship. Foreman went 20:10 to place sixth overall in the meet.

Landmark won its fourth straight state title.

The community can go to the Atlanta Track Club website ( from Nov. 7-17 to vote for the selected runners for first, second and third team.
