Chapel Hill wide receiver Tyre Shelton signed his National Letter of Intent  with Miami-Ohio this morning as the start of the new early signing period for football started.

Shelton had been committed to the Mid-American Conference school since May.

This past season, he was named to the All-Region 5-AAAA first team offense after catching 32 passes for 521 yards and seven touchdowns. He also had 32 carries for 167 yards.

The Panthers also used him on defense where he recorded 28 tackles and had an interception.

Shelton was moved to the slot position this season, which he will likely play in college. For his career, he had 2,655 rushing yards and 684 receiving yards and 25 total touchdowns.

He owns the county single-game rushing record of 415 yards, which he got in a 2016 win at home over Cedartown.

He has a 3.66 grade-point average.
