On a night where they honored their seniors the Lithia Springs girls basketball team made it a point to start strong against visiting East Paulding and used that early momentum to cruise to a 68-35 win Tuesday night.

Deesha Brefford was glad to get a personal milestone out of the way so she can fully concentrate on one of New Manchester’s biggest team goals for this season.
Listening to coach David Mills’ words at halftime, the Lithia Springs girls basketball team clawed its way back in a back-and-forth game at Region 5-AAAAA rival Chapel Hill and used a second-half surge to pull away for good on its way to a 71-58 win.

Douglas County guard Brandon Robinson is one of 12 players in the state that have been nominated to participate in this year’s McDonald’s All-American Game, which was announced on Tuesday.
