Presented by the Live Healthy Douglas Coalition, the Church St Farmers Market will be held every Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. until September 29, 2020. American Red Cross Blood Drive

WEDNESDAY, JULY 1, 9 A.M. TO 2 P.M.

On Wednesday, July 1, 2020, American Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive at the Douglas County Courthouse from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Citizens Hall. To schedule an appointment, please visit the website and use the following sponsor code: dccourthouse. The blood donations collected will be tested for COVID-19 antibodies. Free Food Giveaway

District 1 Commissioner Henry Mitchell, III and District 3 Commissioner Tarenia Carthan are hosting a Free Food Giveaway at the American Legion Post 145 on July 3, 2020, at 2 p.m. American Legion Post 145 is located at 13141 Veterans Memorial Hwy. Board of Commissioners Work Session

Douglas County Board of Commissioners to meet through a videoconference. Douglas County continues to respond to COVID-19 with guidance from Cobb & Douglas Public Health to reduce the risk to the community, elected officials and employees. As part of those efforts, the Monday, July 6 Work Session meeting of the Board of Commissioners will be conducted at 10 a.m. through videoconference technology. Virtual Parent Cafe

JULY 16, 6-7:30 P.M.

The Douglas County Child Advocacy Center will be hosting its first virtual parent cafe on July 16, 2020, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The presenter will share how current research in child development shows how our relationships with children fuel brain development. Come view a showcase of artwork from Carrollton’s guild that would usually be displayed a town away, while our local Guild displays their work at the Carrollton Cultural Art Center. It’s an Art Swap between guilds!
